Importance of Mass Calibrations

Performing mass calibrations on precision weighing instruments such as scales, balances, mass comparators and weights is critical to ensuring accurate results. Overtime, these instruments can drift in accuracy which is why it’s important to regularly calibrate your measurement equipment. This saves your business from experiencing inaccurate readings, production delays and costs.

Having your equipment calibrated by a reputable calibration company can help eliminate those frustrations and have you on your way to having reliable equipment that you can count on.

Our Process

Constellation PowerLabs is a full service calibration laboratory offering comprehensive mass calibration. Our labs are expertly designed and controlled for air pressure, temperature, and humidity.

These conditions are especially important in mass calibrations to properly adjust components, so they measure precisely and render exact weight values for pinpoint accuracy.

Quality in Measurements

Our quality program is routinely audited by A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation) for our ISO 17025 accredited calibrations. Our Appendix B calibrations are routinely audited by NIAC (Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee) and NUPIC (Nuclear Procurement Issues Corporation), which allows us to be an approved nuclear supplier.

Among our technicians, we have highly skilled professionals that have been personally trained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to reinforce the value Constellation PowerLabs believes in providing quality and accurate measurements to our customers. For us, quality is ingrained in everything we do and we aim to provide just that for our customers and more.

Onsite Mass Calibration Services

Since it is critical that scales and balances are calibrated in the same environment due to impacts of the gravitational pull on the component’s geographical location, it is essential that scales and balances are calibrated onsite.

Constellation PowerLabs has a team of highly trained technicians who can come to your facility and perform mass calibration services on your equipment. Simply request a quote and communicate a timeline for the date you would like scheduled. We’ll come to you!

Industries That Use Mass, Weight and Scale Calibrations

As technology has evolved over time, mass and scale calibration has become an integral part in ensuring accuracy and precision across a variety of industries. From medical to industrial and everything in between, mass calibration provides reliable precision for companies looking for quality.

For instance, in medicine it’s very important for a doctor or nurse to measure how much medication is given to patients as well as how much blood was drawn during a procedure. The use of scales for these processes are essential when trying to save lives and ensure that critical data is not being tampered with. While industries like food service rely on measurement tools such as handheld scales for weighing out foods for serving purposes.
