Calibration of Primary Electrical Test Equipment
REQUEST A QUOTEElectrical In-House Calibrations
Calibrating your electrical test equipment is critical to ensuring your instruments are traceable and perform reliable, accurate readings every time. As a full-service accredited calibration laboratory, Constellation PowerLabs performs quality calibrations on both secondary and primary electrical equipment.
While we have a standard electrical lab in-house, we also have a dedicated primary lab that allows us to provide greater accuracies and more precise measurements.

While we provide a wide scope of primary electrical calibrations, please see our high voltage calibrations page to learn more about our expansive capabilities on greater voltages and currents.
Equipment We Calibrate
While we calibrate a wide variety of equipment every day, we regularly calibrate items that vary from multifunction calibrators (such as Fluke 5730A, 5522A, etc.) to reference multimeters (such as Fluke 8508A and Agilent 3458A units). In addition to those types of units, we can also perform calibrations on standard reference resistors and shunts.
Here are just a few of the items we calibrate here in our labs: Multi-function calibrators, DC reference standards, AC voltage standards, DC current standards, AC current standards, refence multimeters, standard resistors, current shunts, primary reference bridges, resistance meters, and more.
If you do not see a component from our list of items that you need calibrated, simply email us at powerlabs@constellation.com.
The Benefits To Working With PowerLabs
With our extensive calibration capabilities, you can easily send in both your primary and secondary electrical test equipment to us! No need to worry about finding a vendor who can calibrate one-piece verses another when you have a dedicated metrology lab that can do both in-house.
Save time and money by having your equipment ship to one location for both your primary and secondary electrical test equipment. Even better, you can go onto our online customer portal, OneLab, to track the progress of your equipment. Once calibrated, we store all your calibration certificates in our OneLab database where you can easily download at your own leisure.
Working with PowerLabs, you can be assured that you are receiving quality calibrations every time as we adhere to strict quality requirements through our Appendix B program. As an approved nuclear supplier, we are routinely audited by NUPIC and NIAC, ensuring our quality program satisfies the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1 and ANSI N45.2.
The Importance of Primary Calibration
Primary electrical test equipment is used to verify the measurement readings of standard electrical instruments, helping ensure the instruments are presenting consistent, accurate readings of voltage, current and resistance.
Various industries such as utilities, nuclear, pharmaceutical, aeronautical, government and automotive heavily rely on their equipment to perform accurately to reduce delays and impact on daily production.
Over time, it’s common for instruments to drift due to age or regular use. That’s why it’s especially important that your personnel are equipped with accurate and reliable equipment from both a safety aspect and a production standpoint. From verifying the voltages of your equipment on site or out on the field, having reliable performing equipment is of the utmost importance.
Our Process
Constellation PowerLabs primary electrical calibrations differ some from our secondary calibrations, yet they are essentially the same process. For primary equipment, they require greater accuracy and tend to take more time calibrating for stability as well as confirming repeatable data.
In our primary lab, we work on multi-function calibrators and high-end reference multimeters that many other site laboratories use as standards to calibrate their basic electrical equipment.
Put Your Trust in Us
We have been performing calibrations since 1911 and have only continued to grow in our depth and knowledge in metrology and testing. You can rest assured that when you work with us, you are receiving quality service from the start!
