Pressure Gauge Calibrations
REQUEST A QUOTEPerforming Quality Pressure Gauge Calibrations
It’s crucial to any quality driven industry that critical measurement equipment performs at full functionality and provides accurate measurement readings. There are many benefits to having your pressure gauge calibrated, as they can help ensure accurate readings and improve process reliability. Inaccurate readings can lead to costly mistakes, while unreliable processes can cause equipment to malfunction. By having your pressure gauge calibrated, you can ensure that all of your measurements are accurate, reliable and ready to be used.
At Constellation PowerLabs, we provide pressure gauge calibrations for thousands of instruments that monitor gas, fluid and flow. Pressure can be separated into two different categories: low pressure (under 15,000 psi) and high pressure (over 15,000 psi).
While our pressure calibration process is similar to our vacuum calibrations, it’s two very different forms of measurements. With pressure, it’s about measuring the pressure value from a pressure measurement instrument and comparing the unit’s reading against the known value. For vacuum calibrations, it’s about measuring the negative pressure of an instrument.
Routine Calibrations
Pressure gauges are important tools in the industrial and scientific communities, and must be calibrated regularly to ensure accurate readings. Calibrations can be performed by a certified company that specializes in these services.
It’s important to routinely calibrate your pressure gauges as the accuracy can drift overtime. Performing routine calibrations mitigates the risk of inaccurate readings, therefore creating safer working conditions, increasing efficiencies, and producing higher accuracy readings.
Quality and Accreditations
As a full-service laboratory, we offer a diverse array of measurement capabilities that are enhanced with our scope of accreditation under A2LA to ISO 17025. At Constellation PowerLabs, we perform ISO 17025 accredited pressure gauge calibrations up to 1,000 psi, as well as non-accredited calibrations up to 40,000 psi. For calibrations that require primary standards, we can calibrate up to 24,000 psi non-accredited.
Industries We Serve
As we continue to maintain our accreditations, we are always looking to expand our services to better support industries that rely on quality. Industries we continually support include nuclear, pharmaceutical, automotive, military, manufacturing, aerospace and more. Through servicing the different industries, we are able to calibrate a diverse range of equipment for pressure calibration.
Industries that rely on pressure gauge calibrations include the automotive, nuclear, oil and gas utilities, pharmaceuticals and aerospace industries. These industries require accurate measurements of pressures to ensure safe operation of equipment. Pressure gauges are also used in manufacturing processes, such as the production of plastics and other materials.
Pressure Calibration Capabilities
Our capabilities include the ability to calibrate generic types such as absolute, gauge and differential pressure equipment. Almost all our calibrations are supported by secondary standards while primary piston gauge standards are used if the accuracy of the unit under test requires it. We typically perform pressure calibrations on the following instruments:
Barometers | Transducers |
Transmitters | Analog pressure gauges |
Digital pressure gauges | Analog differential pressure gauges |
Digital differential pressure gauges | Liquid filled differential manometers |
Pressure calibrators | Pressure controllers |
Field dead weight testers (piston gauges) | — |
Our Calibration Procedure
As with every calibration, we allow the proper warmup time before calibrating depending on the equipment type. First, the technician applies pressure to exercise the unit under test. If appropriate, the tech will then zero the unit under test and the standard being used.
Next, they will then apply pressure to verify the accuracy of the instrument at several incremental points across the range based on the manufacturer’s specifications. The technician then compares the instrument’s test points against the standards known test points.
Upon completion of the last incremental point, the tech will perform a hysteresis check at one point in the downscale direction. Once finished, all data is then recorded and reported if requested, on the final calibration certificate.
The PowerLabs Difference
Working with our accredited laboratory will make all the difference in your industry as we focus on providing quality in everything we do. From performing an expansive array testing and analysis, to providing calibrations that are difficult to source, we aim to serve our customers. We maintain a broad range of capabilities under a scope that is accredited by A2LA to ISO 17025 standards and perform more than 80,000 calibrations annually.
Constellation PowerLabs is a full-service testing and calibration A2LA accredited laboratory. We have four individual labs strategically located from the upper-Midwest to the Northeast, enabling our experienced staff of experts in engineering, metrology, and nuclear power generation to support the urgent demands of our nation’s nuclear facilities, power grids, and critical supply chains.
