Quality Accredited Calibrations

Many industries and service providers often elect to comply with and/or become certified to recognized standards. Standards compliance assures customers of the integrity, technical competency, and proficiency of relevant quality systems. It declares to a customer that a minimal level of proficiency can be expected. Consistent auditing by standards bodies ensures that proficiency level is maintained and improved.

Constellation PowerLabs maintains an accreditation to ISO 17025:2017& ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 & ANSI/NCSL Z540.3-2006 as well as to 10 CFR 50, Appendix B and other relevant, recognized quality management systems. Accreditations such as these provides a neutral, third-party affirmation of the consistency and repeatability of Constellation PowerLabs processes and procedures. It speaks to our commitment to quality and serves as proof of our continuing technical competency to perform specific types of tests or calibrations.

Providing Exceptional Vibration Calibrations

The ability to accurately detect vibration phenomena has become increasingly important over recent years. For example, accelerometers used to detect vibration, displacement and gravitational force have directly contributed to increased automobile safety in such systems as airbag deployment, accident detection and automatic 911 calls. Vibration calibrators provide vibration sensor calibration reference signals that allow for the tuning of transducers such as accelerometers, helping to ensure the accuracy and performance of accelerometer calibrations we perform.

The large number of characteristics available through Constellation PowerLabs vibration calibration capabilities, combined with accreditations in recognized standards allows us to provide consistency, reliability, and value.

Vibration Calibration Demonstration

Constellation PowerLabs technician, Kyle Lingenfelter, prepares a vibration calibration on an accelerometer. After he has mounted the component against the standard accelerometer, he will obtain a reference level and frequency response sweep through the automated accelerometer calibration system. During this sweep, the shaker will shake both accelerometers at the same rate, providing the technician data he will use to compare the accelerometer’s value against the standard.

Our Process

Our test processes are straightforward when it comes to vibration calibration. First, we mount the UUT (unit under test) accelerometers, probes and transducers into its corresponding test fixture, then mount the fixture onto the vibration standard calibration equipment and accomplish the actual calibration. The meters and analyzers used with the vibration equipment are verified using precise input values that simulate specific parameters across the vibration spectrum.

But behind the scenes, our accredited quality management systems drive us to ensure that we follow approved processes and procedures with inspection and test equipment that are themselves calibrated to NIST standards. It is our commitment to quality, and our attention to detail that defines our profound understanding of the calibration process and gives our customers the added assurance of receiving a transducer calibrated to the highest standards.
